Why Chike Okafor Don’t Deserve 3rd Term -Ihitte/Uboma Group

Joining forces with those opposed to the plan by House of Reps Member, Hon Deacon Chike Okafor to continue to be in the National Assembly beyond 2023, Ihitte Uboma League of Professionals has said that the lawmaker deserves no third term.Apart from the political class from Ihitte Uboma rising to condemn the adoption handed to Okafor by a group of youths, others have continued to kick against the proposal.According to a statement issued by Ihitte Uboma League of Professionals, the call is not only selfish on the part of the crusaders but also an attempt to spite the people of the area and Okigwe South Federal Constituency in general.A statement by the group signed by the National Coordinator, Evangelist Bright Eluagu, states “the attention of Ihitte Uboma League of Professionals, IULP, has been drawn to a purported third term endorsement of the current member, representing Okigwe South in the House of Representatives, Hon Chike Okafor, by a group, known as Ihitte Uboma Youths Association which was published in some Imo based tabloids.”It is rather unfortunate that some hungry youths from Ihitte Uboma could descend to the level of being used to achieve personal political interest. But the funny thing about the false endorsement is that the said youths purportedly claimed to have spoken on-behalf of the entire youths of Ihitte Uboma LGA, which is unacceptable to us.”Reading through their uncensored newspaper publication, any sane person will concur with the fact that some disgruntled politicians are out to thwart the already zoning formula in Okigwe South, using these politically naive praise singers.”It is a known fact that Deacon Okafor, the current occupier of the federal seat is rounding off his second term bid in office. He hails from Obowo LGA. It is expected that upon completing his second term in office  by next year, the logic of equity demands that Ihitte Uboma LGA should produce the next rep member.”But it is laughable to discover that few persons from Ihitte Uboma, who are benefiting from the lawmaker, could wake up one morning and endorse the him, on-behalf of Ihitte Uboma youths.”We, the members of Ihitte Uboma League of Professionals, IULP, dissociate ourselves from the purported third term endorsement of Chike Okafor because such endorsement does not have the support of Ihitte Uboma people.”We expect the lawmaker to respect the zoning formula which has been on ground before he was elected into the national assembly in 2015 and allow a peaceful transition of power to Ihitte Uboma LGA, in the spirit of equity and fairness”
