Okorocha’s niece Uche Obinali arraigned in Court for allegedly duping Prince Daniel Kanu
A high-profile case of alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating is before a Magistrate Court in Abuja.
Prince Daniel Kanu had accused Ms. Uche David Obinali, a 49-year-old businesswoman, who is a niece to the Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha of duping him of N127 million.
According to the Police report,Kanu had in a petition dated September 23, 2025, and filed at the Garki Police Station, alleged that Ms Uche Obinali collected $20,000 from him under false pretenses to repatriate the corpse of his late brother from the United States to Nigeria for burial.
However, it was discovered that the late brother had been buried in May 2024, not (2025) a year prior to the alleged collection of the money.
He also accused Obinali of collecting a Mercedes Benz GLS 450 car, a Toyota Sienna bus, four containers, and some amount of money, all valued at N127 million.
The matter was charged to the Magistrate Court Wuse Zone 6, Abuja last week,with Obinali facing allegations of criminal breach of trust and cheating contrary to sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code Law.
The accused, Ms. Uche David Obinali
who resides at No. 18 Lord Lugard Street, Asokoro, Abuja,was arraigned and granted bail.
The Case was adjourned to November 11, 2025
