In preparations ahead 2015 general elections, the Transitional Committee Chairman of Oru East Local Government Area, Imo State, Barr. Obinna Amagwula has reassured Governor Okorocha and All Progress Congress (APC) of his unflinching supports in and that of his constituents come rain, come sunshine,
Barr. Amagwula made this assertion at the flag off of membership registration of APC in the area, yesterday at the council headquarters, Omuma. He stated that APC which was formed under the auspices of Governor Okorocha was geared towards the political re-orientation and emancipation of Ndigbo and Nigeria at large, stressing that the party has come to stay in Imo and Nigeria which no opposition party would subdue.
He maintained that right from the scratch, the interests of the Igbos were relegated to mere concerns by the so called PDP which according to Amagwula could not render effective representation and the grass root democracy to the masses and also urged the people of Oru East never to be deterred in being steadfast and focused to the party as the APC has a lot to offer to the masses if they get the necessary supports they sought.
Speaking further, the legal luminary vociferated that come 2015, APC will emerge victorious whether they like it or not as Governor Okorocha has been tested and tried, and is found worthy to be supported to any political position he deems fit to contest.
Barr. Amagwula further disclosed that All Progressive Congress is a party of Ndigbo formed for the betterment of Ndigbo in general. However, he highlighted that APC is not a Yoruba or fundamentalist party as allegedly quoted wrongly by detractors in form of opposing forces.
Meanwhile, to portray his love and readiness in fulfilling his words, the TC Chairman who addressed his constituents on the importance of being a bonafide member of APC, and the need to be registered took the lead by first registering his name and promised his allegiance to the party. It was recorded that over 5,000 party faithfuls trooped out en mass to be registered.
”Barely two years in office of Okorocha as the executive Governor of Imo State, Imo have recorded massive achievements in all sectors of the economy. That shows the good things ahead if finally Okorocha, and APC are given full support to lead the state and the Nation come 2015 elections. Meanwhile, I charge all APC members to wake up from slumber and rise up to the challenges ahead of true dividends of democracy.” Barr. Amagwula concluded.
