The Imo State Overseer, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Emmanuel Okoro has attributed the high rate of anti-social activities in the society to idleness due to unemployment of the youths.

Pastor Okoro stated this in an interview with our reporter on the occasion of Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) with the theme “Youth Rebirth for Peace, Self- Reliance and Security for the Nation” organized by Deeper Christian Life Ministry in partnership with National Orientation Agency in Owerri.

He expressed regrets that most of the problems in the society including armed robbery, kidnapping, political thuggery, militancy and cultism among others are from the youths because of their neglect stressing that the summit aims at finding the means to properly guide them to create jobs for themselves as government cannot give all jobs.

The Man of God revealed that they gather school leavers and give them potentials of the labour market, teach students to make excellent results in exams, enlighten them on opportunities in agro business, micro- finance and how to access loans urging them to also imbibe spiritual empowerment by maintaining cordial relationship with God.

Pastor Okoro appealed to patriotic citizens of the state to rise up to the responsibility of taking care of the youths as leaders of tomorrow.

In his address, the General Superintendent DCLM, Pastor Dr W.F. Kumuyi noted that the society’s sense of value has injected into many promising youths the wrong approaches to reaching their goals in life graciously inspire every young person in Nigeria to aspire for greatness.

Pastor Kumuyi advised the youths to have a passionate desire, follwed by diligence, discipline and powered by determination to attain a domineering success.

In his remarks, the Director, National Orientation Agency(NOA)ImoState, Mr Vitus Ekeocha maintained that many young people are likely to be influenced positively if their fellow youths act as ambassadors of good governance thereby giving credibility to the policies and programmes targeting them and encouraged youths to take up the ownership of the fight against corruption.
