Kidnappers of Imo Traditional Ruler Arrested

The Nigeria Police Force Imo State Command has continued to assure the people of Imo that they are capable of protecting lives and properties in the state following the arrest of a three-man gang kidnappers who are involved in the kidnap of Eze Joseph Aliebo of Njikoka Umulolo Okigwe and Rev Banabas Arinze of St Michael Anglican Church Amaozu Ikpaoji Arondizuogu Ideato North in March and was released after two weeks and one week respectively.
In a release signed by the State Commissioner of Police, it was disclosed that the three kidnappers, Sunday Ikechukwu Okparaeke 36, (aka Nwamama) ring leader, Kingsley Henshaw 34, and Prince Simeon Igwegbe were arrested through the coordinated effort of intelligence unit and their expanded strategic partners from the Anambra State. It was also disclosed that their hostage camp which can be best described as Axis Evil is at the ring leader’s compound.
However, it was also discovered that one of the suspect is the son of HRH Eze Basil Igwegbe of Ogbobo Autonomous Community in Okigwe LGA. The Eze was said to have fled the community to avert police interrogation or arrest. The police had also warned the Eze to report himself to the nearest police station before the law catches up with him.
Some of the items recovered from them include, a Toyota Corolla Car, Nissan Maxima Car, Toyota 4 Runner Jeep, Toyota Rav 4 Jeep. Two are in Umuahia whose make are not yet known.
