The Imo State Government has dissolved the members of the Community Development Boards, CDBs,of the Shell Petroleum Development Corporation, SPDC, for Awarra, Obile, Ochia and Assa Communities in Ohaji/ Egbema LGA of Imo State.
According to the Special Adviser and Cordinator, Oil and Gas Matters to The Imo State Governor, Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah, “sequel to this, oil producing companies in the area and the people of the oil producing communities of Ohaji/Egbema LGA are therefore warned to desist further relationship with the Godswell Uho Uzomba led CDBs as doing so amounts to flagrant disobedience to the Government of Imo State.
The statement further states that “security agencies have been notified of this directive and anyone acting in the contrary is doing so at his or her own risk.
“The Imo State Government urges the oil companies and people of the area to go about their normal business as new members of the CDBs shall be constituted in due course”
