Following series of postponements spanning over 3 years, the Imo state Governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma can be said to be set to conduct Local Government elections in the 27 Council Areas in the state.
Trumpeta learnt through a release made public and signed by Rt Hon Prince Stanley Nwosu, APC Chairman, Orlu LGA directing contestants on procedure for procurement of forms.
“Imo state Governor, Dist Sen Hope Uzodinma through the State Party Chairman of Imo APC, Hon MacDonald Ebere just announced that Local Government Elections will hold in the state. Sales of forms will start in July, 2023.
“All the Councillorship, Chairmanship aspirants of APC Orlu LGA should without further delay report to APC office Orlu LGA or call the Office of the Chairman APC Orlu for further enquiry.
Although the actual date for the Imo LGA election wasn’t mentioned in the release also seen by Trumpeta but it is understood that it will take place before the November 11, 2023 Imo Governorship Election.
It expected that by this development the tussle of who mounts the seat of Chairman at the LGAs will take centre stage even as other political parties as at the time of this report were yet to react on the development.
