There is now palpable apprehension in Ejemekwuru autonomous Community following the arrest and detention of their Monarch, Eze Hippo Duru since last week.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, told Trumpeta that the Monarch was whisked away last Friday by believably Tiger base Policemen personnel from Owerri.
The impeccable source disclosed that the arrest has to do with a petition that the Monarch has hands in most of the insecurity activities in the Community and environs.
He is also believed to have been having meetings with believed bad elements in the area.
Eze Duru, though backed by the Town Union during the Ezeship tussle in the Community, is said to have recently fallen apart with the Town Union Executives.
Trumpeta was exclusively informed that last Sunday the traditional ruler, who is gradually loosing acceptance in his Community, was sighted on handcuffs, spotting boxers, when the Security personnel came along with him for a search in his palace.
Trumpeta investigation reveal that expected big wigs, in the Community, who would have waded into the matter have all fled the Community as a result of incessant maimings and killings in the area.
When asked about the present situation of the Eze, our narrator simply remarked, “My brother, honestly, everybody is afraid to show face for fear of being termed accomplice because of the weight of the petition and the sponsors”.
