Reprieve came the way of embattled Egbema and Oguta residents who were devastated by last year flood as a High Court in Imo State yesterday ordered the Governor and the state Government to stop forthwith tampering of Federal Government’s N400m flood relief money.
The High Court sitting at Oguta under Justice Goddy Anunihe granted an interim injunction restraining the State Government and Governor till the determination of the substantive suit filled by the appellants.
It would be recalled that a concerned citizen of the area, Barr Onyeonyibo had gone to court asking that the governor and the state government should not spend monies made available to the affected without considering input and evolvement of people of the area.
