Members of the Okorocha political family, otherwise known as the Rescue Mission, suspected to be romancing with opponents of the Governor, especially those opposed to the candidature of Chief Uche Nwosu as the next governor of Imo State are in for trouble as government fine tunes strategy to checkmate their activities.

Recall that some groups within the Rescue Mission have voiced out against the endorsements granted to Nwosu by the governor and other allies. One of them was the Restoration Group led by TOE Ekechi, a former Commissioner appointed by Okorocha who led APC leaders to publicly denounce their support for Nwosu and went further to condemn the action of the governor.

In a swift revenge to possibly driven to witchunt the non Uche Nwosu advocates, the Imo State Government under Okorocha has set up a machinery to cage the revolutionaries.

Our source hinted that apart from the sack letter given to Ichie Best Mbanaso and others, the Governor is also planning to confiscate their properties in order to reduce their status. It was gathered that Governor Okorocha appointed Mbanaso first Mayor of Orlu zone, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Commissioner For Commerce and Industry, Commissioner For Works and later he brought him back as Mayor of Orlu, thereafter the Governor made Mbanaso his Special Adviser on new cities and market development, a position he was handling before he was sacked last week.

The Governor as we gathered regretted that Mbanaso he trusted can romance with his detractors to fight against his interest. Okorocha who is said to have raised eye brows over the meeting held at Imerienwe, resolved to clip the wings of Ichie Mbanaso, TOE Ekechi and many others that he once empowered. As of now there is serious move by Okorocha to probe the activities of these former rescue mission appointees.

Information revealed that Okorocha has turned his back against them and have vowed to reduce their status by collecting back all that he gave them when the going was good.

The latest development revealed that all the efforts made recently by Mbanaso and others to see Okorocha and beg for forgiveness proved abortive as the governor has directed his Aides not to allow Mbanaso and his group close to him any longer.

Many have described Mbanaso, TOE Ekechi as ingrates and people bitting the finger that fed them.

Many rescue mission members who condemned the action of TOE Ekechi and Ichie Mbanaso said governor Okorocha brought them close to him and made them so great and powerful in Imo Rescue Mission Government.

Mbanaso and few others as we learnt have apologized to Okorocha. “I can never fight Governor Okorocha and he still remain my boss”, Mbanaso was said to have stated.

But another source said that Mbanaso has not begged Okorocha, and will not, as he is busy working for his Orlu Federal House Seat.

And for TOE Ekechi, the Media guru is not ready to apologise to Okorocha who is accused of blocking Ekechi from getting any Federal appointment, after Ekechi functioned as Buhari’s Director of Strategy during the 2015 election, but instead Okorocha used his in-laws and relations to fill all the position that came to Imo State. Among them are Chuks Ololo and Prof Anthony Anwuka who became a Minister in place of Ekechi.
