The leadership of Imo State All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCOPS is reportedly in disarray over issues concerning tenure elongations as well as their years of stay in the civil service.
Trumpeta gathered that those holding key positions in the association are retired since last year yet they are still in the civil service and are allegedly falsifying their document to enable them continue in the system.
Their tenure in office as ANCOPS officials is also said to have expired. Since last year, the President and secretary of the association reports say have continued to stay in office after their retirement.
Majority of ANCOPS members were also alleged to have falsified their records there by making it difficult for the ministry of education to get the accurate record of Imo teachers and principals.
Many of them according to reports have been dogged the ongoing revalidation and verification exercise of teachers and principals to avoid being exposed to the public.
Trumpeta  also gathered that the officials holding the properties of the association are  allegedly delaying the 2021 conference from holding  so that there will not be an official meeting of principals to demand for election of new exco and possible handover of properties to elected members. The younger principals who want to become officials of ANCOPS we gathered are aggrieved asking that Governor Uzodinma should intervene as a matter of urgency to stop retired principals from controlling the Leadership of the association from outside.
We further gathered that the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma may declare State of Emergency on the Education sector because of crisis in the sector.
Report has it that up till now junior WAEC result have not been released yet students in Imo State Secondary School have been ordered to register for another Junior WAEC Exams with  the closing date for registration is next week Monday.
Many students who start for the exam are worried because of the unreleased result.
The student are now confused on whether they should register the Junior WAEC again or to wait for the result to come out.
The confused students now loitering in their various schools without entering classes for studies.
The examination development centre (EDC) we gathered have been accused of being responsible for the delayed Junior WAEC result in Imo State.
Another report however has it that EDC officials are no longer accepting receipt from principals of Junior Secondary Schools who registered students for junior WAEC.
Some of the principals who spoke under anonymity to our reporter disclosed that they paid to the treasury single account (TSA) as directed by the governor but the EDC officials bluntly refused to acknowledge the payment “The EDC refused to give us receipt”  some of the principals said.
We were told that the former Commissioner for Education Prof BTO Ikeagwuoha gave Junior Secondary Schools to IMSUBEB to control and based on this change the EDC officials got confused and refused acknowledge any payment of any principal that paid through TSA of Secondary Education Board SEMB.
Moreover SEMB and IMSUBEB are said to be at war over the control of junior secondary. Many Directors and officials of IMSUBEB are said to be in serious trouble now for allegedly transferring some teachers and principals of junior secondary.
